I first drew the Wren from the viewpoint of looking down on it. I decided to use pastels to show the softness of the feathers and details of the head and legs. I then used a pencil to create a rough scene to tell the story of its habitat. This small bird has managed to overcome challenges posed by mankind's activities and serves as an inspiration for future ambitions in preserving ecosystems and by studying the success of conserving the Carolina Wren
